CFS # CFS20-13625 Date 06/12/20 Two vehicle crash Hwy 80 & St. Rose Rd. Subjects Involved: Driver: Hope Cassell Freeport IL (23-) Driver: Jerry Ambs Cuba City WI (36) Passenger: Stephanie Ambs Cuba City WI (31) Vehicles Involved: Cassell was driving a 2009 Hyundai Ambs was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado Address HWY 80, CUBA CITY, WI 53807 On Friday, June 12, 2020 at 5:43 P.M. the Grant County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Hwy 80 at St. Rose Road in Smelser Township for a two vehicle crash with entrapment. Cuba City Fire & Rescue squads were dispatched. Cassell had been traveling west on St. Rose Road when  she failed to stop at the intersection of Hwy 80 & St. Rose Road. Cassell collided with Ambs on Hwy 80 at the intersection. Jerry Ambs and his  passenger, Stephanie were transported to a hospital by a private vehicle. Vehicle Moving over for Squad Car Strikes Traffic Sign Address HWY 133 / JOHNSON ST, BOSCOBEL, WI 53805  On June 5, 2020 at approximately 10:38 pm, Deputies were responding to a report of a physical domestic disturbance. A Deputy was westbound on Highway 133 near Johnson Street in the Township of Boscobel driving with emergency lights and siren activated. The Deputy was approaching a pickup truck also westbound on Highway 133. The truck began to slow down and move to the shoulder of the road as the squad car got closer. The truck then entered the ditch on the right side of the road, struck a metal traffic sign post, exited the ditch, and came to a rest on the shoulder of the road. The Deputy who witnessed the crash stopped to check on this driver, while other deputies continued to the domestic disturbance. After investigation, it was found that Rocky Foust, age 53 of Muscoda, was operating his 2000 Chevy S10 on Highway 133. Foust stated he observed the squad car approaching and was...

Grant County Vehicle Accidents

Two Vehicle Accident On May 28, 2020 at approximately 12:00 PM Callie Waterman, age 21 of Fennimore, was traveling North on Highway 61 near the intersection of Indian Creek Road in her 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. Waterman was following a pick-up truck pulling a trailer. Behind Waterman was a 2019 Kenworth tanker truck driven by Brandon Lewis, age 31 of Coggon, IA. The truck was owned by Valley Environmental Services of Newton, IA. Grant County was experiencing severe thunderstorms and visibility was restricted. The truck pulling the trailer slammed on its brakes causing a chain reaction for the following vehicles. Waterman was able to avoid colliding with the trailer but Lewis struck Waterman's vehicle causing moderate damage. All parties were wearing safety belts. All vehicles were driven away from the scene by the operators. One vehicle rollover crash Date 05/18/20 Address CTY P / WILLIS LN, BAGLEY, WI 53801 On May 18, 2020, at 5:24 p.m. the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to CTY P near Willis Lane in Wyalusing Township for a one vehicle rollover crash. The investigation showed the driver, Donna McIntyre, age 23  of Bagley, was traveling north on CTY P when she lost control of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban after swerving to miss a deer. The vehicle entered the ditch, came back onto the roadway and then overturned before coming to rest on it's top. Donna McIntyre was treated for minor injuries at the crash scene. Andrew Reynolds,  age  27  of Bagley,  was a passenger in the vehicle along with a 1 year old child. Neither Reynolds or the child were injured. Donna McIntyre was charged with Operating while Intoxicated 2nd Offense with a passenger under 16 years of age, Fail to Install Ignition Interlock Device and Operate without a Valid Drivers License.  Assisting at the crash ...

One Vehicle Crash with Injury Address CANNON RD / BUCKWHEAT RIDGE RD, LANCASTER, WI 53813 At 11:35 p.m. on May 13, 2020, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle crash on Cannon Road near Buckwheat Ridge Road in Ellenboro Township. The investigation shows a 2018 GMC Sierra was being operated by Richard Martin, 58, of Lancaster. As Martin was traveling north on Cannon Road, he crested a hill and failed to negotiate a curve. Martin's vehicle left the roadway and struck a large culvert. The investigation shows Martin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Martin was transported to Grant Regional Health Center by Lancaster EMS with serious injuries. Assisting the Sheriff's office at the crash scene was the Lancaster Fire Department, Lancaster EMS and Bennett's Towing of Lancaster. The crash remains under investigation, however speed and alcohol may be factors in the crash.

Suspicious Driving Results in OWI 7th Address CTY C, WOODMAN, WI 53827 On April 29, 2020, at around 6:45 pm, two deputies observed a vehicle and acting suspicious.  A registration check showed the owner was suspended in Wisconsin.  The driver, Edward Lund, age 59 Janesville, was found to be intoxicated.  He refused to exit his vehicle and attempted to drive away.  He also resisted arrest, and was ultimately taken into custody.  He had 6 prior OWI offenses, and one OWI pending from Rock County.  Additional charges include Resisting Arrest of Felony Bail Jumping.  Assisting the Sheriff's Office was Terry's Tire of Boscobel. **Persons arrested by the Grant County Sheriff's Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Fatal Crash Near Potosi WI.

Two Vehicle crash results in fatality Address HWY 35/61 / ABING RD, POTOSI, WI 53820 On Wednesday,  April 8, 2020 at approximately 6:35 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 35/61 and Abing Road in Potosi Township.  Grant County Sheriff's Office Deputies, along with the Potosi Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the scene. During the investigation it was determined that a 2016 Kenworth Semi, owned by Zimmerman Transfer, Inc. of Dodgeville, WI ,was being driven by 54 year old Brian Cathman of Lancaster.  Cathman was heading south on Hwy 35/16 when a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, owned by H/E Squared Construction LLC of Bloomington, WI, failed to stop at the posted stop sign on Abing Road at Hwy 35/61.  The driver, 42 year old James Hendrickson of Bloomington, WI drove through the intersection and struck the passenger side of the south bound semi.  Mr. Hendrickson was not wearing his seat belt and was eje...
