Grant County Reports

CFS20-02653 01/30/20 PAFFENRATH RD, MUSCODA, WI 53573 On January 30, 2020, at approximately 1:22 P.M., the Grant County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the State of Wisconsin wildlife property, along the Wisconsin river in Muscoda Township, for a male party who's dog was caught in a foot trap. The reporting party, Lee Perko of Muscoda, was walking his dogs in the wildlife property when one of his dogs stepped in a foot trap. As Mr. Perko was attempting to free his own dog from the foot trap, the dog bit Mr. Perko in both hands. Mr. Perko was unable to free his dog after being bit. Blue River Fire and EMS,along with the Wisconsin DNR and a sheriff deputy were dispatched to the scene. Blue River Fire Department members were the first to arrive on scene and assisted Mr. Perko, while other fireman freed Mr. Perko's dog from the trap. Mr. Perko was transported to a local hospital for injuries to both hands. The sheriff's deputy transported both dogs to the Riverdale Vet C

DICKEYVILLE, WI On 1/27/20 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Zachary Rohrbach, age 23 of Potosi, was traveling northbound on Hwy 61, just north of Dickeyville, in his 2005 GMC Sierra. Zachary was looking at a building along the road and failed to see a 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Penny Morrison, age 33 of Dickeyville. Penny was legally stopped, with her turn signal activated, waiting to pull into her driveway. Zachary's truck rear-ended Penny's vehicle causing disabling damage to both vehicles. Possible minor injuries were reported, but EMS transport was refused. Zachary was cited for Inattentive Driving.Dickeyville Fire, Dickeyville EMS, and Donnie's Tire and Tow assisted at the scene.  , CUBA CITY, WI 53807 On January 29, 2020 at approximately 2:13 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle roll over on Hwy 80 justsouth of Lone Road. HIT & RUN, PROPERTY DAMAGE CFS20-02022 01/23/20 13200 BLOCK OF CTY Q, FENNIMORE, WI 53809 On January 23, 2020, at approximately 8:00 A.M., a vehicle was driving east on Cth Q in Fennimore Township, when it lost control on the snow covered road. The vehicle drove into the south ditch and struck a TDS junction box, before leaving the scene. Car vs. Power Pole/Fire CFS20-02042 01/23/20 CTY U / RATTLESNAKE RD, CASSVILLE, WI 53806 On January 23, 2020 at approximately 6:00 PM on County U near the intersection of Rattlesnake Road, Beetown Township Brad Kruppe, age 25 of Platteville, was traveling South on County U in his 1993 Ford Ranger. Road conditions were snow covered and slippery due to inclement weather. Kruppe hit a slick spot in the roadway causing his Ranger to go into the ditch line on the West side of the roadway

2 Vehicle Crash without Injury CFS20-00806 01/09/20 1700 BLK HWY 80, HAZEL GREEN, WI 53811 On January 9, 2020 at approximately 3:45 PM on Highway 80 South of the Highway 11 intersection, Hazel Green Township, Clinton Nemitz, age 38 of Platteville, was traveling in his 2009 Nissan Altima with his 2 children.  Nemitz slowed to allow a vehicle in front of him to turn into a private driveway.While Nemitz was stopped Alex Egan, age 18 of Cuba City, was traveling behind Nemitz in his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck. Egan failed to see Nemitz's vehicle stopped in front of him causing his Silverado to crash into Nemitz's Nissan. No injuries were sustained in the crash and all occupants were wearing safety belts. Egan was issued a citation for inattentive driving. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Munyon's Ioco (Cuba City).
