Suspicious Driving Results in OWI 7th Address CTY C, WOODMAN, WI 53827 On April 29, 2020, at around 6:45 pm, two deputies observed a vehicle and acting suspicious.  A registration check showed the owner was suspended in Wisconsin.  The driver, Edward Lund, age 59 Janesville, was found to be intoxicated.  He refused to exit his vehicle and attempted to drive away.  He also resisted arrest, and was ultimately taken into custody.  He had 6 prior OWI offenses, and one OWI pending from Rock County.  Additional charges include Resisting Arrest of Felony Bail Jumping.  Assisting the Sheriff's Office was Terry's Tire of Boscobel. **Persons arrested by the Grant County Sheriff's Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest is only an indication that probable cause exists to bring formal charges.** The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld in accordance with §950.04. UTV vs M/C crash w/injuries CTH A, Platteville, WI 53818 On May 2, 2020 at approximately 1:45 pm, Nelson Mitchell, age 39 of Dodgeville, WI, was traveling west bound on County A in Lima Township, operating his 2011 Honda motorcyle. Mitchell was traveling behind two atv/'utv's one operated by Valerie Honshel, age 65 of Platteville. Honshel, who was operating her 2016 Polaris UTV, was also westbound on County A.  ÀHonshel indicated a left turn, as well as the second ATV, by using hand signals. Mitchell thought they were waving him around, so he began to pass as Honshel turned left. Honshel turned left and Mitchell struck the UTV, roling both vehicles. There was a no passing zone where the crash had occurred.  Assisting at the scene was the Southwest Health Rescue Squad units. Both operators received non-life threatening injuries. The motorcylce was towed by Haase's towing and the UTV was removed by the owner. The crash remains under investigation.
