2 Vehicle Crash without Injury
CFS20-00806 01/09/20 1700 BLK HWY 80, HAZEL GREEN, WI 53811

On January 9, 2020 at approximately 3:45 PM on Highway 80 South of the Highway 11 intersection, Hazel Green Township, Clinton Nemitz, age 38 of Platteville, was traveling in his 2009 Nissan Altima with his 2 children. 

Nemitz slowed to allow a vehicle in front of him to turn into a private driveway.While Nemitz was stopped Alex Egan, age 18 of Cuba City, was traveling behind Nemitz in his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck. Egan failed to see Nemitz's vehicle stopped in front of him causing his Silverado to crash into Nemitz's Nissan. No injuries were sustained in the crash and all occupants were wearing safety belts. Egan was issued a citation for inattentive driving. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Munyon's Ioco (Cuba City).

One Vehicle Crash due to Icy Road
VALLEY RD, FENNIMORE, WI 53809

On January 10th, 2020 at approximately 4:33 am, the Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle crash on County Highway T near Coon Valley Road in the Township of Hickory Grove. After investigation, it was found that Jorge Solorzano, age 54 of Fennimore, was operating his 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on County T. Solorzano was negotiating a slight right hand curve when he lost control of his vehicle due to the ice covered road. The vehicle left the roadway on the right side and entered the ditch before coming to a rest near a fence. Solorzano was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured in the crash. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Doan's Towing out of Fennimore assisted at the scene. 

One vehicle crash - no injuries
 ROCK RD, PLATTEVILLE, WI 53818

On Monday, January 13, 2020 at approximately 7:26 pm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on Rock Road in Smelser Township. Jane K. McPhail (47) of Platteville was traveling west on Rock Road when she lost control of her 2015 JeepGrand Cherokee due to icy road conditions. McPhail crossed the center of the road and struck a fence in the left ditch line. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene by Donnie's towing of Dickeyville. McPhail was not injured in the crash.
