CFS19-34495 12/07/19 HILLDALE RD / PARKVIEW RD, LANCASTER, WI 53813 On December 7, 2019 at approximately 3:37 pm Terry Rowe, age 81 of Lancaster, was traveling West on Hilldale Road near the intersection of Parkview Road, North Lancaster Township in his 2002 Dodge Caravan. Gary Cooley, age 64 of Lancaster was traveling East on Hilldale Road in his International Combine. Rowe became distracted by the glare from the setting sun. Cooley was able to see Rowe was driving toward his combine and was able to stop the combine partially off the roadway. Rowe crashed into the combine causing damage to bothvehicles. Boscobel Man Charged with Possession of Child Pornography; Grant County Sheriff’s Office Joins ICAC Task Force

  BOSCOBEL, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Grant County Sheriff’s Office today announced that Zachary B. Dresen was charged on December 6, 2019, for five counts of possession of child pornography. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office became an affiliate of the Wisconsin ICAC Task Force in October 2019.   “DOJ and its more than 280 affiliate partners on the Wisconsin ICAC Task Force, like the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, are working together to keep our communities safe,” said Attorney General Kaul. “This case and many others across the state show the impact of that collaborative work by law enforcement.”   “The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is excited about the opportunity we have to partner with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as it provides a strong collaboration to help fight crimes against children. lease December 2, 2019 CFS # Date Address Bullet strikes residence  CFS19-33699 11/28/19 BORAH RD, FENNIMORE, WI 53809 On 11-28-19 at approximately 11:30am, a bullet went through a residence, owned by Joel Belstra 37 of Fennimore, in Mount Ida Township during a family get together. It was unknown where the bullet came from. The Grant County Sheriff Office and the Wisconsin DNR investigated the incident. The investigation found that a neighbor, Kevin Zart 30 of Fennimore, was out hunting with his young son. Kevin fired 3 rounds at deer, 2 rounds were in the direction of the Belstra residence. The direction Kevin fired was consistent with the path of the bullet into and through the residence. No one was injured in this incident. Charges will be filed for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon against Kevin. CFS # Date Address Two Vehicle Crash CFS19-33115 11/22/19 HWY 61 / ABING RD, POTOSI, WI On November 22, 2019 at approximately 12:47 the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a two vehicle crash at theintersection of Hwy 61 and Abing Rd located in the Township of Potosi. Susan Boyer, age 59 from rural Potosi, was traveling northbound on Hwy 61 in her 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Boyer was slowing and turning left (westbound) onto Abing Rd. At the same time Rozanne Long, age 73 from Potosi was also traveling northbound on Hwy 61 in her 2011 Chevy Malibu. Long did not see the Boyer vehicle slowing and turning. Long attempted to veer to the left to avoid a collision but Boyer had already begun her turn. Long struck the rear driver's side of the Boyer vehicle with the front passenger's side of her vehicle. CFS # Date Address Two vehicle crash w/ injury CFS19-32457 11/15/19 HWY 151, PLATTEVILLE, WI 53818 On 11/15/19, Alec Kessel, age 20 of Platteville, was driving his 2001 Saturn northbound on Hwy 151. Alec pulled to the right side of the road believing he needed to turn right. Alec realized he actually needed to turn left onto Southwest Rd. Alec looked but did not see any vehicles coming so he turned left from the far right lane. Jennifer McDonough, age 32 of Davenport, IA, was traveling northbound in her 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. Alec turned in front of Jennifer causing both vehicles to collide. Jennifer was transported by Platteville EMS to Southwest HealthCenter due to minor injuries. Alec did not report any injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Alec was cited for Improper Left Turn and Operating While Suspended. Platteville Fire Department and SOS Towing assisted at the scene.

CFS # Date Address Sleepy Driver Crashes into Guardrail CFS19-31790 11/08/19 Hwy 133 / SAND HILL RD, BOSCOBEL, WI 53805 On November 8, 2019, just after 6pm, Ethan Merwin, 28 of Woodman, was on his way home from work when he fell asleep at the wheel. He awoke right before he collided with the guardrail end. The 2003 Silverado he was driving, spun around and completely blocked the Westbound lane of Hwy 133. Ethan refused medical treatment at the scene. Assisting at the scene was Boscobel Fire, Boscobel EMS, and Terry's Tire & Towing. Press Release November 8, 2019 CFS # Date Address One Vehicle Crash with Entrapment results in Fatality CFS19-31052 11/01/19 HWY 81 / RATTLESNAKE RD, CASSVILLE, WI 53806 On November 1, 2019 at approximately 7:34 am Grant County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a one vehicle crash on Hwy 81 near Rattlesnake Rd located in the Township of Beetown. Julie Kuenster, age 60 from rural Cassville, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 81 nearRattlesnake Rd in her 2009 Chevy Aveo. Kuenster's vehicle left the roadway, onto the gravel shoulder, on the south side of Hwy 81. Kuensterthen over corrected the vehicle and slid across Hwy 81 in a counter clockwise manor. Once on the north side of Hwy 81 the rear passenger's side of the vehicle struck a guardrail end and violently spun in a clockwise manor. Kuenster's vehicle then went head first into a rock wallembankment. Kuenster was wearing her seatbelt and airbags were deployed. Kuenster was entrapped in the vehicle and was extricated by ...
