Two Vehicle crash results in fatality Address HWY 35/61 / ABING RD, POTOSI, WI 53820 On Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at approximately 6:35 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 35/61 and Abing Road in Potosi Township. Grant County Sheriff's Office Deputies, along with the Potosi Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the scene. During the investigation it was determined that a 2016 Kenworth Semi, owned by Zimmerman Transfer, Inc. of Dodgeville, WI ,was being driven by 54 year old Brian Cathman of Lancaster. Cathman was heading south on Hwy 35/16 when a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, owned by H/E Squared Construction LLC of Bloomington, WI, failed to stop at the posted stop sign on Abing Road at Hwy 35/61. One vehicle crash 06/28/20 HWY 61, POTOSI On Sunday 28 June 2020 at approximately 6:17 pm, Nolan A. Lamantia (16) of Lancaster was driving a 2007 maroon Chevrolet Impala north on USH 61 when he fell asleep just north of Kelly Lane. Lamantia's vehicle crossed the center line, crashed into the guardrail face and then came to a rest on the right shoulder. Neither Lamantia nor his minor passenger were injured in the crash. The vehicle was sustained heavy damage and was removed from the scene by Bennett's Towing of Lancaster. Lamantia was cited for inattentive driving.
