Single Vehicle Crash
CFS20-02960 02/03/20 HWY 35/81, LANCASTER, WI 53813
On February 3, 2020 at approximately 9:35 a.m., Jashua Schomacker, age 37 of Cassville, was operating his 1993 GMC 1500 pickup on Highway 35 west of Porters Bridge road in the Town of Beetown. Josh suffered a medical issue and the truck crossed the center line into
oncoming traffic. The truck exited the roadway on the north side, struck an embankment went airborne and landed on the front driver's side.Josh was transported by Lancaster EMS to Grant regional for medical evaluation. Josh's truck was towed from the scene. Josh was cited for operating after driver license had been canceled and operating without insurance. Assisting at the scene was Lancaster fire, EMS, Bennett'sTowing.
Milk Truck Rollover


CFS20-03076 02/04/20 HWY 35/61, POTOSI, WI 53820
On February 4, 2020 at approximately 11:48 a.m., Gerald Busch, age 64 of Cuba City, was driving a 2016 Peterbuilt milk truck, owned by Simon Bros Trucking of Farley, Iowa, north on Hwy 61. Busch was operating in the right lane of the uphill grade between Kelly Lane and Longbranch Road. David Hellerud, age 25 of La Crosse, was driving a 2010 International semi owned by Reinhart Food Service of LA Crosse going north in the left passing lane of Hwy 61. A witness reported that Hellerud activated his right turn signal and began merging into the right lane occupied by Busch. The vehicles were against each other as Hellerud continued to merge. Witnesses stated that Hellerud's truck forced Busch onto the shoulder causing the milk truck to roll onto its side. Both Busch and Hellerrud were wearing safety belts and neither were injured. Hellerud's vehicle continued north on Hwy 61 and was stopped by a Grant County deputy. Hellerud's semi had minor right side
damage. The milk truck received heavy damage and was removed from the scene by Guys Trucking. Assisting at the scene were the Dickeyville Police department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Grant County Highway Department, Potosi Fire Department, Potosi EMS, and Kruser
Septic Service. This crash remains under investigation.


2 vehicle crash with no injuries
CFS20-03103 02/04/20 Hwy 129 at City Limits Rd., Lancaster, WI 53813
On 2/4/20 at 4:52pm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle crash on STH 129 at City Limits Rd. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the drivers of both vehicles. 33 yo Nathan Bremmer of Prairie Du Chien was heading northbound on STH 129 in
his 2019 Ram 1500, and was slowing down to turn west onto City Limits Rd. 43 yo Dylan Skrede of Soldiers Grove was also northbound on STH 129 in his 2003 Toyota 4Runner following Bremmer. Skrede stated he looked away at something inside his vehicle and by the time helooked up, he was unable to stop and he stuck Bremmer's vehicle from behind. Bremmer's vehicle sustained disabling damage to the rear and
Skrede's vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and the airbags were deployed in Skrede's vehicle. No injuries were reported. Bremmer's vehicle was removed by Bob's Towing out of Prairie Du Chien and Skrede's vehicle was
removed by Doan's out of Fennimore. Lancaster Police Department assisted at the scene and re-directed northbound traffic for a short period of time until Skrede's vehicle was removed from the lane of traffic. Skrede was cited for inattentive driving
