Intoxicated Man Arrested in Tavern with a Gun
CFS19-25891 09/12/19 7911 CTY U, BEETOWN, WI 53802
On September 12, 2019 at 12:18 pm Grant County Deputies responded to a report of a male subject who had made somevague comments of being on the news and was in possession of a pistol inside Yesterdaze Tavern located at 7911 CTY U in the Township ofBeetown. Deputies located Brian Irish, age 60 from the rural Lancaster area, and detained him while they investigated the  were able to locate the pistol Irish had hidden outside of the bar once he had learned the authorities had been called. The firearm was loaded and Irish was discovered to be impaired as well as a convicted felon. Irish was also discovered to be in possession of marijuanaand drug paraphernalia. Irish was arrested for: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon,Carrying a Handgun Where Alcoholic Beverages May Be Sold and Consumed, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of DrugParaphernalia. Irish was transported to the Grant County Jail where he was later released, after an initial court appearance, on a signature
bond.

Minor 2 Vehicle Crash
CFS19-25906 09/12/19 HWY 61, POTOSI
On 09/12/19, Christian Bauer, 20, of Tennyson, was backing out his driveway when he struck a work truck driven by Anthony J Wakeham, 25,of Lanse MI. Anthony was entering the highway from the Leibfried Car Wash. Christian's 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and Badgerland Car Wash's work truck both sustained minor damage. Nobody was injured during the crash.

One Vehicle Fatality Crash
CFS19-26128 09/14/19 County Road B at Stanton Road, PLATTEVILLE, WI 53818
On September 14, 2019 at 4:48 AM the Grant County Dispatch Center received a report of a one vehicle rollover crash on County Road Bwest of Stanton Road. Dallas Esser, age 22 of Cassville, was traveling west on County Road B in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado when he failed
to negotiate a curve in the roadway, traveled into the ditch on the south side of the road and struck a culvert, which caused the vehicle to rollmultiple times before coming to a rest on its wheels. Esser was found laying along the passenger side of the vehicle. Esser was transported toSouthwest Health by Southwest Health EMS and was then transfered to UW-Madison via Med-Flight, where he later passed away due to his
injuries. Esser was alone in the vehicle at the time of crash. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Southwest HealthEMS, Platteville Fire Department, and Donnie's Tire and Tow out of Dickeyville. The crash remains under investigation. This is the 8th person killed in a crash in Grant County for 2019 (Seven crashes total, with 8 people killed)
Distracted Driving Causes Collision

CFS19-26180 09/14/19 Hwy 18 / Rice Rd, MT HOPE, WI 53816
On 9-14-19, Jospeph Ready, age 18 of Prairie Du Chien, was traveling west on Hwy 18 when he looked down at his cell phone and rearended a truck turning onto Rice Road. The truck was being driven by William Sweeney, age 54 of Mount Hope. No one was injured in thecollision and Ready was cited for using his cell phone with a probationary license and no insurance. Assisting at the scene was Mt Hope Fire,Fennimore EMS, and Milos Towing.

One Vehicle Crash
CFS19-26239 09/15/19 CLAY HOLLOW RD / MORGAN RD, CUBA CITY, WI 53807
On September 15, 2019 at approximately 11:40 am a Grant County Deputy responded to a one vehicle crash at the intersection of Morgan Rd
and Clay Hollow Rd located in the Township of Paris. The crash occurred at approximately 3:00 am. Ronald Reed, age 67 from ruralPlatteville, was traveling northbound on Morgan Rd in his 2011 Honda Civic. Reed did not make the turn left or right at the "T" intersection.
Reed's vehicle went straight across Clay Hollow Rd and struck a well house to a residence across from the intersection. Reed then left the scene. The crash was discovered the next day as the residence did not have running water due to the damages to their well. Guy's Truck and
Tractor towed the vehicle. Reed was not injured in the crash. Reed was wearing his seat belt. Reed was cited for Failure to Notify Police of a Crash, Hit and Run Property Adjacent to Roadway, and Driving Too Fast for Conditions
