TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN METH ARRESTS
CFS19-17034 06/22/19 319 N HWY 61, LANCASTER, WI 53813

On June 22, 2019 at 1:18 P.M., a Grant County Sheriff's Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Hyundai Sontana for an equipmentviolation at New Horizons in the City of Lancaster.

Upon making contact with the four occupants, Hunter Theisen, 17 of Cassville (driver),Benjamin Wheeler, 19 of Cassville, Hunter Newberry, 17 of Boscobel, and Michael Anderson, 20 of Prairie Du Chien, the deputy observed
signs of drug use. Additional resources responded, including K9 Arrow, with the Lancaster Police Department. As a result of the investigation,methamphetamine and additional contraband was located.
Mr. Newberry was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a probation hold was placed.

Mr. Theisen was arrested for Operating under the Influence of a Restricted Controlled Substance.Both Mr. Wheeler and Mr. Anderson were later released to a responsible party and no charges will be filed at this time on both.

This matter will be referred to the Grant County District Attorney's Office.

2 Vehicle Head on Crash with Minor Injury
CFS19-17096 06/23/19 TOWN HALL RD / HWY 61, BOSCOBEL, WI 53805

On June 23rd at approximately 12:08 a.m., the Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle head-on crash on Townhall Road just west ofHighway 61 in the Township of Marion. After investigation, it was found that 15 year old Hannah Kraft, of Boscobel, was operating a 1990 Ford
Mustang eastbound on Townhall Road. Bailey Crary, age 20 of Boscobel, was operating a 2001 Ford F150 westbound on Townhall Road.Kraft was crossing a narrow bridge on Townhall Road when Crary's vehicle was approaching the same bridge from the opposite direction. The
two vehicles collided head-on just as the Mustang was exiting the bridge on the east side. Both vehicles received severe damage and came toa rest in the roadway. A 16 year old passenger in the Mustang, fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving.

Two passengers in the F150received minor injuries in the crash and refused medical transport. All occupants in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
Hannah Kraft will be cited for Operation by Permitee without a parent, instructor, or person over 21 in the vehicle. The 16 year old passenger who fled will be cited for Underage Drinking under 17 years old. Bailey Crary will be cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and
Failure to Yield one-half of single lane road/meet on wrong side of road. Terrthe y's Tire and Towing, Boscobel Fire, and Boscobel EMS assisted.

CFS19-17502 06/26/19 CANAL ST, BLOOMINGTON, WI 53804
On 26, June 2019 at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls of a vehicle crashing into a house.
When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered James H. Steines (28 of Mt. Hope) had been traveling east on Canal Street in Bloomington
in a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander Van (owned by Rachel M. Silvers, 30 of Boscobel). Steines crashed into a legally parked 2016 Chevrolet Malibu,
leased by Karen M. Ploessl (47 of Bloomington.) The crash was at such a high rate of speed, it pushed the Malibu approximately 40 feet off
Canal Street into a legally parked 2005 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 owned by Robert F. Johnstone (54 of Bloomington). The Silverado
received heavy damage and was pushed into a garage. Steines' vehicle crashed into a guardrail that had been installed to protect the
residence. The residence, owned by Norbert C. Moore (82 of Bloomington), received heavy damage as a result of the guardrail being pushed
through a bedroom wall where the occupants were sleeping. The Chevrolet Malibu and Chevrolet Uplander were totaled. Steines admitted to
traveling between 75 and 80 mph in a 25 mph zone. Steines was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a detectable amount of a
controlled substance, possession of a prescription medication without a prescription, and cited for 75 mph in a 25 mph zone, failure to have
control, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Assisting at the scene was the West Grant Rescue Squad, Bloomington Fire
Department and B&M Towing of Bloomington.

Male Falls Off Moving Vehicle
CFS19-17770 06/29/19 N GRAND ST / W SAMPSON ST, LIVINGSTON, WI 53554
On June 29, 2019, at approximately 3:18 pm, Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to N Grand St near the intersection of W Sampson St.,
in Livingston for an injured male who had fallen from a moving vehicle.
Isaac X Albaugh, age 17, of Linden, was operating a 1998 Jeep Wrangler northbound on N Grand St near W Sampson St when he lost control
of the vehicle in the gravel. There were six total passengers in the vehicle, including Albaugh, a 15 year old female from Montfort, a 17 year old male from Livingston, a 16 year old female from Livingston, a 16 year old female from Platteville, and Dalton O Seyfferth, age 17, of Dodgeville. Seyfferth was not seated in the vehicle, but standing on the rear bumper of the vehicle and holding onto the roll bars, as the vehicle was in
motion. Albaugh lost control of the vehicle and Seyfferth was unable to maintain grip and balance and fell off the rear of the vehicle, landing on the roadway. Seyfferth lost consciousness and suffered major injuries. The victim was transported to Upland Hills Health, Dodgeville, and air lifted to UW-Madison from there.
