Grant County Reports

On June 14th at approximately 9:04pm the Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle crash at the intersection of Snowbottom Road andCounty G in Wingville Township. It was found that 16 year old Carlee Kosharek, of Highland, was operating a 2008 Chevy Malibu westboundon Snowbottom Road. Kosharek was unfamiliar with the road and using a navigation app on a phone. Kosharek stated she was talking to her
passenger and didn't realize she was approaching the intersection on County G. Kosharek failed to stop at the stop sign and drove through the intersection and off the road on the west side of County G. Kosharek's vehicle went down a steep hill before hitting a ditch and coming to a
rest in a field. Kosharek received minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The passenger, 18 year old Trevor Wanek, of Blue River, was uninjured. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Haase's Towing and Auto out of Montfort assisted at the scene.

2 VEHICLE CRASH
CFS19-16321 06/15/19 HWY 81, PLATTEVILLE, WI 53818
On June 15th Rodrigo Rodriguez of Lancaster was driving his 2007 Jeep east on Hwy 81 in Platteville Township when he slowed to turn into a business on the north side of the road. Caden Buss, age 18 of Boscobel, was driving his 2004 Pontiac Vibe east on Hwy 81 and crashed into the back of Rodriguez. Rodriguez and Bernardo Rodriguez of Lancaster a passenger in the vehicle were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Buss was transported to Southwest Health Center for his injuries. Both vehicles were removed from the scene with disabling damage.

Assisting at the scene was Bennett's Towing, the Platteville Police Department, and Platteville Fire Department.

One Vehicle Rollover
CFS19-16329 06/15/19 CTY O, POTOSI
On June 15th a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by Tia Coates Welby, age 16 of Platteville, was going east on Cty O in Harrison Township when she swerved to miss a deer. As the vehicles passenger side tires went onto the gravel shoulder the vehicle began to slide. The vehicle wentacross both lanes of traffic striking the north hillside and rolled onto its top. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle with only minorinjuries.

The vehicle received heavy damage and was removed from the scene by Donnies Tire and Tow of Dickeyville. The Potosi Fire Department and Potosi EMS assisted at the scene.
