Semi Rollover Crash with Injury
CFS19-29770 10/19/19 HWY 81 / AIRPORT RD, PLATTEVILLE, WI 53818
On October 19, 2019 at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Grant County Dispatch Center received a report of a semi that had crashed on State Highway 81 at Airport Road, in the Township of Ellenboro. Maurice O'Leary, age 56 of Footville, WI, was traveling east on State Highway 81, in a 2005 Kenworth semi pulling a fully loaded tanker with milk, when he struck a deer in the roadway then traveled into the guardrail on the south side of the road and continued off of the roadway down an embankment causing the semi to overturn and roll striking a power pole before coming to a rest on its side. O'Leary was transported by Southwest Health EMS due to his injuries. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Southwest Health EMS, Platteville Fire Department, and Guy's Towing out of Kieler.

CFS19-29771 10/19/19 Hwy 18 @ Fairgrounds Rd., Patch Grove, WI
On 10/19/2019 at around 4:55 a.m., the Grant County Dispatch center received a 911 call from On Star reference a crash in the area of US-18/ Fairground road in Patch Grove township. Deputy arrived on scene and located a vehicle in the ditch line. The driver was located later that morning and it was determined that Michael Schultz, age 36 from Portage, WI, was driving his 2019 Nissan Titan truck northbound on Fairground road and failed to stop at the intersection and hit the embankment on the north side of US-18. Schultz was transported by private
vehicle for minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene was B & M Towing.

2-vehicle crash
CFS19-29881 10/20/19 HWY 35/61 @ CTY B, POTOSI, WI
On October 20 at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Grant County Communications Center received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of HWY 35/61 and County B in Potosi Township. Derek McBee, age 30 of Fennimore was traveling south in their 2014 Dodge
Durango on HWY 35/61 in Potosi Township. Carter Austin, age 21 of Platteville was west bound on CTY B when he failed to see or slow down
for the stop sign due to foggy conditions and being tired. Austin's 2006 Honda entered the intersection colliding in the rear quarter panel of the McBee vehicle. The Mcbee vehicle then spun around and turned over on the side of the vehicle and then slid along the shoulder of Highway
61 exiting the roadway and entering the ditch. As McBee's vehicle entered the ditch it then rolled one complete time. McBee's passenger, Ashley McBee was transported by Potosi Rescue Squad to Grant Regional Health Center with non life threating injuries and Derek was transported by private vehicle for evaluation. Non of the minor children in the McBee vehicle were injured, however after the crash the dog took off running and was later found at a nearby relative of the McBees. Austin was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. Assisting at the scene was Potosi Fire and EMS, Bennetts Towing and Arrow towing. both
