Traffic stop results in OWI 3rd Offense arrest

On February 12, 2020 at approximately 11:13 a.m., a Grant County Sheriff's Deputy was operating his fully marked squad car north bound onCounty Road X in Wyalusing Township near Borhringer Lane. The Deputy noticed that there was a 2013 Ford F150, being operated by Daniel
Meyers, age 59 of Mount Hope, WI, traveling southbound. The Meyers vehicle came around a corner and traveled across the center line, in the Deputy's lane of travel. 

The Deputy was able to avoid a crash, got turned around and subsequently stopped Meyers for operating left of
center. Upon further investigation it was discovered Meyers had a loaded .17 hmr rifle in the front seat and had been drinking. After field sobriety Meyers was arrested for a 3rd offense OWI. Meyers was booked into jail on OWI 3rd and going armed while intoxicated. Meyers was
also cited for open intoxicants in the vehicle and operating left of center. 
**Persons arrested by the Grant County Sheriff's Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest is only anindication that probable cause exists to bring formal charges.** The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld in
accordance with §950.04.

2 Vehicle Crash w/ no injuries
02/12/20 HWY 11, HAZEL GREEN, WI 53811

On 2/12/20, at 7:12pm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a 2 vehicle crash on Hwy 11/80, just north of Edison Rd. in the Town of Hazel Green. The investigation showed 28 year old Emalie Allbee of Hazel Green was southbound/westbound on Hwy 11/80 when she lost control of her 2013 Dodge Avenger on the snow covered and slippery road. Allbee's vehicle spun out and struck a 2017 Ram truck being driven by 63 year old James Kaiser of Hazel Green, who was northbound/eastbound on Hwy 11/80. Allbee's vehicle sustained disabling
damage and had to be removed by Munyon's towing out of Cuba City. Kaiser's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was removed by the owner. 
Hazel Green Fire Dept. responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control. Hazel Green EMS also responded, but all parties refused transport. The highway was shut down for a short period of time. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Hazel
Green Police Department, Hazel Green Fire Department and Hazel Green EMS.
